2015 The Vineyardist Cabernet Sauvignon
"The 2015 Vineyardist is made entirely from estate grown Cabernet Sauvignon grapes located in the Diamond Mountain AVA at elevations of 1,300 feet. Using the estate’s most mature vines, grapes were harvested at the miniscule yield of 1/2 ton per acre and barrel aged for 22 months in 100% new French oak. The result is a hedonistic wine that is inky dark in color and effusively aromatic with black raspberries, strawberry jam, crushed granite, roasted almonds, and candied black cherries. Hints of pu’er tea, black cardamom, forest floor and milk chocolate propel this wine into another dimension. The intoxicating palate has remarkable weight, is seamlessly powerful with a mouthwatering display of black and purple fruit marmalade. This is a sleeping giant of a wine with tannins that are at the same time amazingly concentrated and almost translucent. While incredible now, the 2015 Vineyardist will age effortlessly for more than three decades."
